Scarce early type with distinctive rosette ornament in reverse legend, the cross-lions-castles full but unusually double-struck, and the shield nearly full but off-center enough to show a bold PHILI- of king's name, much peripheral flatness but only light surface corrosion, nicely toned. With original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his Concepción contract with the Dominican Republic. Recovered from: Concepción, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola
