MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, Philip II, assayer O below mintmark oM to left, denomination 8 to right, ex-Woodside. S-M11; KM-43; Cal-661. 27.22 grams. Excellent full shield and cross-lions-castles with bold full oMO and 8, some legend albeit with peripheral flatness, lightly toned, overweight, desirable grade (accompanied by NGC tag 4499464-002 AU55 despite a touch of corrosion in flat part of edge) and very popular as the first collectible "dollar" coin of Mexico. Pedigreed to the Rob Woodside Collection.
