MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, 1714 (J), new style shield, old style cross, NGC VF details / sea salvaged (oversized slab). S-M22; KM-47; Cal-1401. Neat, narrow, urn-shaped flan housed in an impressively large slab, with full shield and cross despite flat areas, surface corrosion, and dark color all over, bottom of 1 and some 4 of date (confirmed by style). With Sedwick photo-certificate. SOLD FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE 1715 FLEET SOCIETY. Recovered from: Spanish 1715 Fleet, sunk off the east coast of Florida
