MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, (1714-15) (J), new-style shield and cross, ex-Bruce Ward. S-M22; KM-47; Cal-Type 170. 24.95 grams. Good full cross and nearly full shield (both well centered), interesting pointed-shape flan, minimal corrosion, toned in crevices, formerly a "greenie" in the Ward auction but since cleaned to show details. Pedigreed to the Bruce Ward Estate (Cargile auction of December 2019, lot 221), with original photo-certificate (before cleaning). Recovered from: Spanish 1715 Fleet, sunk off the east coast of Florida
