MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, 1639 P, double-struck cross. S-M19; KM-45; Cal-1328. 25.39 grams. Bold oMP with clear bottom of 39 of date above, most of shield (pitted here and there), but most interesting feature is the dramatically doubled cross (scarce), toned in crevices, peripherally flat. With original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic. Recovered from: Concepción, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola
