MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 4 reales, Philip IV, assayer not visible, struck from 2R dies. KM-unl (38 for type); Cal-unl (Type 275). 10.43 grams. Unusual piece as struck from 2 reales dies (hence the smaller size shield and cross), corroded with some encrustation spots yet nicely detailed in areas, especially the cross. With original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic. Recovered from: Concepción, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola
