MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 1 real, Philip II, assayer F to right, mintmark oM to left, king's name as PIIIIIPVS, also IIISPANIARVM on reverse, GRTIA in legend, rare, ex-Hubbard. S-M12; KM-unl (26 for type); Cal-229. 3.40 grams. XF with nearly complete cross and clear mintmark and assayer, with both the king's name as PIIIIIPVS due to lack of an H-punch and GRTIA spelling error in the obverse legend, nice full cross with much of legend visible including II used for H in HISPANIARVM (first we have seen with these errors on a 1 real), nice full cross, natural edge-split, richly toned with light tan sedimentation in the fields. Pedigreed to the Clyde Hubbard Collection, with his tag.
