MEXICO, Mexico City, bust 8 reales, Charles III, 1783 FF, NGC / excavation recovery (Marblehead Hoard Label). Yonaka-M8-83; KM-106.2; Cal-1124. Interesting piece to come out of this hoard as the Mexico 1783 FF 8 reales made up the majority of the salvaged coins from the popular El Cazador shipwreck. Although this particular piece went a different route, it goes to show how prevalent the Spanish milled dollar was in global commerce at the time. Dark, stained piece though fully detailed (around the XF-AU range).
