MEXICO, Mexico City, 2 reales, Charles-Joanna, "Late Series," assayer oGo to right, mintmark oMo to left (oMo-oGo), king's name as CHAROLVS. Nesmith-33 type; Cal-93; S-M5; KM-12. 4.49 grams. Scarce early variety (six that we have seen) with king's name as CHAROLVS and oMo-oGo for mintmark and assayer, dark with some corrosion as from saltwater damage, XF for condition with full legends and interiors. Recovered from: “Golden Fleece wreck,” sunk ca. 1550 in the northern Caribbean
