MEXICO, Mexico City, 2 reales, Charles-Joanna, "Early Series," assayer P to right, mintmark M to left (oMo-oPo), very rare. Nesmith-25 for type; Cal-91; S-M4; KM-11. 6.66 grams. One of five known—and two of those in a long-held private collection—with this reverse of tiny lozenges inside the rhomboid panel, so a rare type of a less plentiful denomination and not found in Nesmith. The coin is a nice XF with attractive colorful toning, well-struck legends and (especially) interiors, typically well centered and round.
