MEXICO, Mexico City, 2 reales, Charles-Joanna, "Early Series," assayer P over Latin R (Rincón) at bottom between pillars, oval panel with PLVS, unique, NGC AU details / cleaned, ex-Sedwick-Downing (stated on label). Nesmith-4 type/4a under assayer R; S-M1; Cal-unl; KM-10. 6.61 grams. Nicely toned with very minor porosity, bold full inner details, the legends with almost all-Gothic lettering on shield side and mostly Latin lettering on pillars side, both die matches with known assayer-R coins (different coins each side). Currently there is no other known P/R in 2 reales. Pedigreed to the Sedwick-Downing Collection of Mexican Charles-Joanna Coinage.
