MEXICO, Mexico City, 2 reales, Charles-Joanna, "Early Series," assayer Latin R (Rincón) at bottom between pillars, rhomboid panel with PLVS, unique, NGC AU details / corrosion, ex-Sedwick-Downing (stated on label). Nesmith-unl; S-M1; Cal-unl; KM-10. 6.57 grams. Bold full legends and inner details, the shield doubled and with light surface corrosion but still recognizable as a die-match with a later assayer-P coin (note the mostly Gothic lettering), the pillars side showing the only known rhomboid panel in 2 reales, very darkly toned with virtually full legends. Pedigreed to the Sedwick-Downing Collection of Mexican Charles-Joanna Coinage.
