Obverse with bust of Charles IV facing right, wearing the Collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece within legend CARLOS IIII REY DE ESPAÑA Y DE LAS INDIAS; reverse with underground mining scene showing three shafts and miners at work with picks, legend ACLAMADO EN LA C DE GUANAJUATO POR SUS LEALES MINEROS above, EN 28 DE OCTUBRE / DE 1790 in exergue; smooth edge. AU with rich toning all over ranging from deep blue to golden and red hues, a few faint hairlines in the fields, long vertical die crack running along back of king's bust.
