Lot of two small brass sewing instruments (thimble and scissors), ex-Guadalupe-Tolosa (1724). 14 grams total. scissors 2" long; thimble ½" tall, ¾" in diameter. Most of a pair of decorative brass scissors (the iron blades long gone), held together with a piece of wire, one of the oval loops caked with encrustation, with decorative markings and scrollwork on the shaft; the other piece an open-tip thimble, intact, with the usual dotted markings around the perimeter. From the Guadalupe-Tolosa (1724), with original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic and copy of the article "Graveyard of the Quicksilver Galleons" by Mendel Peterson from the December 1979 issue of National Geographic.
