Lot of two iron mule shoes with four nails, ex-Consolacion (1681). 296 grams total, the shoes 5" x 4", the nails 1-1/2" long. Intact U-shaped shoes, professionally conserved (black) but thin and slightly rusty from oxidation, one with a series of eight square sockets where nails were to be hammered in, the other too highly oxidized to show sprockets, four nicely conserved nails included. From the Consolacion (1681), with ROBCAR certificates #100032, 33. Recovered from: Consolacion, sunk in 1681 off Santa Clara Island, Ecuador
