Lot of 9 Spanish countermarked copper coins (1600s). 1.8 to 6.6 grams each, 31.2 grams total. The typical "pennies" of their time, the host coins ranging from Philip II to Philip IV, denominations of 4 and 8 maravedis, all with revaluation countermarks from the early to mid-1600s (some dates visible), mostly corroded but with at least some diagnostic detail on each one, good for study. Recovered from: 1681 Fleet off Panama (Boticaria site)
