Lot of 9 Spanish colonial cobs, various denominations (8R, 4R, 2R and 1R) and mints (Mexico, Lima and Potosi) and assayers, all coral-encrusted. 146.67 grams total. Mostly solid coins with clear details (many with visible assayers) despite moderate to heavy corrosion and "chewing" around edges, all toned but with bright white coral adhering in places, a fascinating lot to be sure. Recovered from: Unidentified ca.-1590 wreck off the Yucatán peninsula of Mexico
