Lot of 2 matched British Naval boarding pikes, mid-1800s. 1424 and 1582 grams, each 91" long. Very long and finely crafted wooden poles with still-sharp iron triangular points in excellent condition, the wood and metal both nicely patinated but undamaged and uncleaned, each piece stamped on the metal strap with broad arrow, EFD, N, crowned 75 over E, and '97, presumably the marks of foundry, maker, regiment, etc.
NOTE: In the printed catalog these were mis-described as military pikes, but they are identifiable as naval by the lack of a metal butt.
