Lot of 2 Revolutionary War-era roundshot, American, from the Battle of Castine (1779). Large: 7-1/4 lb, 4" in diameter; small: 1-1/2 lb, 3" in diameter. Simple balls, with visible casting seams and pits, the larger one stable and solid but the smaller one lightly cracked, but slightly rusty, but important part is the pedigree, as both were excavated from the site of Ft. George, Penobscot Bay, Maine, where the famous Battle of Castine took place in 1779. With photo-certificate.
