Lot of 2 Mexico City, Mexico, bust 8 reales: Charles IV, 1801FM; and Ferdinand VII transitional ("armored bust"), 1809 (assayers not visible). 15.7 and 20.6 grams. Clear details despite moderate corrosion, some dark toning and encrustation. With numbered certificates from unidentified salvager attributing the source to a pirate ship named Black Joke, sunk in 1828 and salvaged in 1991. Recovered from: Unidentified ca.-1811 wreck off Cadiz, Spain (spuriously attributed to the Black Joke of 1828)
