Lot of 1 pewter "rat-tail" spoon and 1 clay pipe, the flat end of the spoon used for tamping the pipe, ca. 1680, from southern England, in Riker box. 49.6 grams total, the pipe about 5" and the spoon about 6". A plain pipe (white, with orange staining) accompanied by a sturdy tamping-spoon (black, with green highlights) from the same site that perfectly fits the pipe, both pieces impressively intact.
