Lima, Peru, cob 2 escudos, 1710H, from the 1715 Fleet, encapsulated PCGS MS-62, rare. S-L25a; KM-36; CT-304. 6.7 grams. Extra broad flan with choice full shield and pillars-and-waves, exceptional grade and perfectly struck, even slightly lustrous, second date (7 only) in legend (rare thus), this date far less common than the 1709 or 1711. From the 1715 Fleet (as stated inside the slab), with Mel Fisher certificate, also Plate Coin in the 3rd edition of our Practical Book of Cobs (1995), page 104.
