Lima, Peru, cob "1/8 real" (quarter cut of a 1/2 real), Philip II, assayer Diego de la Torre, * to right of monogram. S-L4; KM-5. 0.3 gram. A near-perfect quarter, just like we see with the colonial "bits" of milled coins two centuries later, with most of king's name and part of monogram visible but little else, low-contrast Fine, probably salvaged, very interesting and the first of its kind we have ever seen.
