Large silver "torta" (oval ingot), 24307 grams, marked with fineness IIUCCCLXXVII(?), ex-1733 Fleet (Coffins Patch / San Francisco). 10-1/2" to 11-1/2" in diameter, 2-3/4" at its thickest. An impressive mound of silver with flat top and rounded bottom (cast in simple pit), with various stamps on its pitted topside mostly corroded away but the fineness in center still fairly clear above what appears to be a rectangular assayer cartouche (unreadable), typically arc-shaped assayer's "bite" in edge, very rare provenance. From the 1733 Fleet (Coffins Patch / San Francisco site).
