Large silver ingot #158 from Oruro, 82 lb 9.92 oz troy, Class Factor 0.8, with markings of manifest CCCXXXIIII (334) and owners/shippers, ex-Atocha (1622), ex-Caesar's Palace auction (1987). 14-3/4" long, 4-3/4" wide, 3-1/4" tall. Typical of most Class Factor-0.8 bars, this big loaf of silver shows corrosion on its surfaces, causing the loss of lighter markings like date/mine, assayer, tax stamps and even fineness (assumed to be 2380/2400 like almost all of them), but the manifest number is still very bold, as are the large owner/shipper marks A and RL, also with cylindrical assayer's "bite" at one end, desirable as provenanced to the Las Vegas 1987 auction and with Gene Lyon research. From the Atocha (1622), with original Fisher photo-certificate #85A-S334, pedigreed to the Caesars Palace auction of September 26, 1987 (lot #188), with original catalog (also with January 1988 Skin Diver magazine reporting on the results), and with original manifest report from Gene Lyon.
