Large silver ingot #149 from Oruro, 72 lb troy, Class Factor 0.7, with markings of fineness IIUCCCLXXX (2380/2400), manifest LXVI (66), owner/shipper and silvermaster, ex-Atocha (1622), ex-Caesar's Palace auction (1987). 15-1/4" long, 4-1/2" wide, 3" tall. Nicely toned bar with bold markings in corners (manifest at top left, owner/shipper CRo in monogram at bottom right, silvermaster V [de Vreder] at top right) and clear fineness at bottom-middle, lacking visible tax stamps, assayer cartouche and date/mine, curiously with cylindrical assayer's "bite" below top surface at left end, desirable as provenanced to the Las Vegas 1987 auction with Gene Lyon research. From the Atocha (1622), with original Fisher photo-certificate #85A-S149, pedigreed to the Caesars Palace auction of September 26, 1987 (lot #308), with original catalog, Treasure Salvors' 1981 booklet The Treasure of 1622, and original manifest report from Gene Lyon.
