Large silver Atocha ba #723 from Potosi, 60 lb 7.68 oz troy, Class Factor 1.0, with markings of mine / date (Po1622), manifest IIIUDXXXVI (3356), and fineness IIUCCCLXXX (2380/2400) followed by cartouche of assayer Mexia, shipper / owner's marks (Munibe / Nunez) and tax stamps, ex-Atocha (1622). 14" x 4-1/2" x 2-1/2". Smaller than the usual "large" bar (in fact a nicer size, as more manageable) but with great markings, per the Class Factor, which include a faint silvermaster-mark V in one corner and a D in the very center next to the double-scoop assayer's "bite," the bold shipper / owner's marks to the sides quite prominent (consisting of a big MB monogram for Munibe and a "magic wand"-topped diamond for Nunez outside a deep vertical slash, also with a big but rubbed-out asterisk next to the MB), the tax stamps and Mexia cartouche faint but present. From the Atocha (1622), with original Fisher photo-certificate #85A-S723. Note: The mine / date cartouche is very weak and arguably not visible, located below the MB monogram (upside-down).
