Large silver Atocha ba #696 from Potosi, 76 lb 10.24 oz troy, Class Factor 1.0, with markings of mine / date Po1622, manifest DCXCVI (696) and fineness IIUCCCLXXX (2380/2400) followed by cartouche of assayer Mexia, shipper / owner's mark (Bautista la Gasca) and tax stamps, from the Atocha (1622). 14" x 4-7/8" x 3". Another well-marked bar, the monogrammed-CA shipper / owner's mark particularly prominent near one end next to three parallel lines, the other markings more central around a typical double-scoop assayer's "bite," also with date and silvermaster-mark V near the opposite end, along with most of a large tax stamp, great for display. From the Atocha (1622), with original Fisher photo-certificate #85A-S696.
