Large promotional wooden chest containing fifteen cob 8R (eleven), 4R (three) and 2R (one), one of each from Potosi and the rest Mexico, with Grissim and Earle books in special dust jackets plus large certificate and Shedd Aquarium booklet. About 18" x 15" x 6". Solid coins, all shiny from cleaning but most without corrosion, clear shields and crosses, many with visible assayers (but no dates), one of 2000 sets made (this one numbered 593) and sold in department stores in the 1980s, probably the largest promotional shipwreck items ever put together. (Note: Be sure to see lot 1329 for a rare original medal concerning the original salvage of this ship by Sir William Phips in 1687.) Contained in large wooden chest with hinged lid and lock (the key missing, left in locked but open position), the coins in a removable tray with glass cover. Recovered from: Concepcion, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola
