Large lignum vitae deadeye from an unidentified shipwreck of the 1700s. 2294 grams, 7" in diameter and 4" thick. Of the various parts of the rigging of a wooden sailing ship, perhaps the most recognizable is the deadeye, with three worn holes in middle perpendicular to the groove around the perimeter, the present specimen fully intact and heavy, great for a nautical display.
