Large lead sounding weight marked XVI (16 lb), hexagonal cross-section. 16 lb, 17" long and 2-1/8" in diameter at its widest. An unusually long and hefty weight, used to find depth, with mostly tan encrustation, large eye at top, V-shaped indentation in bottom, and XVI weight stamped into side.
