JAPAN, lot of three gold 2 shu "samurai coins," Tokugawa Shogunate, Tempo era (1830-44). JNDA 09-43; KM-C18. 4.92 grams total. each 7.5 x 3 mm. VF-XF with traces of toning, small rectangular coins in electrum (gold-silver mix) with kiri crests and denomination on obverse and Goto signature on reverse, the smallest and lightest of the three rectangular “samurai coin” types offered here, each averaging about 1.64 g, one with a tiny round chopmark in corner and incuse chop on other side.
