WILLIAM KNIBB JAMAICA. encircling with B.R. HAYDON DES on edge; Reverse: commemoration to abolition dated August 1st 1838; Edge: plain. Rare medal commemorating the work of Reverend William Knibb in overturning slavery and abusive "apprenticeships" in the British island colonies. UNC with very high relief bust and lustrous, prooflike fields.
