Irregular gold "splash" ingot, 267 grams, marked with fineness XXI (21K), from the 1715 Fleet, ex-Bowers & Ruddy (1977). Approx. 3" x 2" x 1/8". Very attractive "puddle" of gold with exceptionally smooth top, deeply marked with fineness, and very bubbly bottom, in a random shape with assayer's "bite" clipped from the end of one peninsula, valuable classic pedigree. From the 1715 Fleet, pedigreed to the Bowers & Ruddy auction of February 1977, lot #5334.
