Iron cannon-shot "12-pounder" with original wooden sabot from the James River, VA, ca. 1864. 6.65 kilograms, 6-1/2" overall length, 4-1/2" diameter. Found on the site of a Civil War supply barge carrying a load of ammunition and war material for the Federal army and sunk in the James River, originally secured by tin straps, now missing, conserved and in excellent condition. With photo-certificate.
