"Hatcher Cargo" Chinese blue-on-white porcelain bowl, octagonal shape, transitional period (1627-1662), ex-Chinese junk wreck of ca. 1645. 62 grams. 3¾" diameter, 2" tall. Small, light, octagonal bowl decorated with eight panels containing flowering plants, just a couple of small chips in rim and lots of interior crazing. Pedigreed to the "Hatcher Collection" of porcelains from a ca.-1645 Chinese junk wreck in the South China Sea and Christie's (Amsterdam) auction of March 1984, with original lot-sticker 381 (group lot) on bottom.
