HONDURAS (under Mexican Empire), Tegucigalpa, 2 reales, Iturbide, 1823 MP, very rare, PCGS VG details / holed. Stickney-C86; KM-12.1. Fascinating issue struck in Honduras while under Mexican rule (Empire of Iturbide) using the old Spanish colonial cross-lions-castles design for the reverse plus the new Mexican eagle-on-cactus motif for the obverse, the former well detailed with bold date but the latter crude and off-center, holed at bottom of cross, very lightly toned, a very rare one-year type for which KM says six to seven are known, of which we can trace only three (including this one).
