H.T. Helmbold's genuine fluid extracts glass bottle, with stand, ex-S.S. Republic (1865). 155 grams. 6¼" tall x 2" x 1¾". With H.T.HELMBOLD GENUINE FLUID EXTRACTS PHILADELPHIA embossed on sides, a light green bottle with white sedimentation lining the interior, the extract made from the buchu plant, a small woody shrub used in South Africa by indigenous peoples as a traditional medicine for irritations of the bladder and urethra and for disease of the prostate. From the S.S. Republic (1865), with original tag and certificate R-04-02921-BE-002 from the salvors.
