Great Britain, large silver medal, James II, salvage of the Concepción by William Phips in 1687. Eimer-285; MI-619/33. 65.64 grams. Designed by Bower and struck from silver recovered in 1687 by New Englander Phips, who was knighted for his deed, with portraits of James II and Mary on the obverse and a salvage scene on the reverse, nice XF, attractively toned and problem-free, desirable example of a highly sought issue.
