Great Britain, copper alloy Admiral Vernon medal, 1741, Vernon and Ogle / Cartagena, ex-Adams (plate). AC-CAvo3C. 12.60 grams; 38 mm. UNC or close to it, nice brown color with satin surfaces, triangular copper patch to right on reverse, scarce variety that Adams-Chao calls "elegant." XRF: 43.59% copper, 49.39% zinc, 5.68% lead. Pedigreed to the John Adams Collection (with his handwritten tag), plated on page 171 of Medallic Portraits of Admiral Vernon (2010), by Adams and Chao.
