Great Britain, copper alloy Admiral Vernon medal, 1741, Vernon and Lezo and Ogle / Cartagena, ex-Adams. AC-CAvlo1B. 13.38 grams; 39 mm. Dark XF+ with more tin content than most, one of only two Cartagena varieties (the other prohibitively rare, as is also a single variety with Brown instead of Ogle) showing all three of these men, with Lezo kneeling to depict a surrender that never happened. XRF: 42.96% copper, 45.08% zinc, 4.18% lead, 1.20% tin. Pedigreed to the John Adams Collection (with his handwritten tag).
