Gold "finger" bar #45, 668 grams, 17-1/4K. 6" long, 1-1/4" wide. About half an ingot, typically crudely broken to split the value in its time, with three of the five fineness markings per bar in evidence (here as XVII-dot), a bit wider than most and of relatively lower fineness, attractively caked with white coral on both the rounded (marked) side and the flat topside, also with coppery stains here and there on lustrous yellow surfaces. Recovered from: "Golden Fleece wreck," sunk ca. 1550 in the northern Caribbean
