Gold buckle with ring clasp, 3.84 grams, fineness 14K, rare, ex-S.S. Central America (1857), ex-Barfield. Buckle roughly 1¼" x 1½". Small, rectangular buckle with ornate scrollwork around the outside and on the flower-type loop above it, the three-pronged buckle bar having come loose from its pivots because the tiny (probably brass) pins that held it in place are missing, XRF tested at 14K. From the S.S. Central America (1857), with certificate, pedigreed to the Barfield Collection.
