Glazed ceramic Delftware bowl with four-panel fruit scene, ex-pirate ship Golden Fleece (1686). 223 grams. 5¼" in diameter at top, 3" tall. Decorative matte-finish floral piece painted in blue, green and red, chips all along the lip but otherwise intact, a smudge of glossy encrustation on the interior. The pirate Bannister had captured an Irish ship and taken it north of Samaná, where he held it for two weeks and removed everything from it, including Delftware china like this piece. From the pirate ship Golden Fleece (1686), with original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic.
