German copperplate engraving by Theodore de Bry showing Dutch ships attacking Valparaiso (Chile), plus on the reverse another engraving showing the same Dutch ships in the harbor of Quintero (Chile), from America, 11th book (1620), both hand colored. 12-1/2" x 7-1/2" (images 7-1/4" x 6"). Valparaiso and Quintero harbor scenes (each on its own page) featuring five galleons flying Dutch flags with smoke from cannons shooting at various regiments of troops onshore; in bottom left are native man and woman standing together. Slight foxing around edges and some bleed-through of type from other side of page on the Valparaiso drawing.
