Garment clasp made from 5 Spanish colonial milled minors. 28.7 grams, 7-1/2" long. Very odd item with clasp that looks like a pair of tongs ending in hands connected at the other end to 5 coins in a row, as follows: Santiago 2R 1780DA, Potosí 2R 1790PR, Mexico 1R 1802FM, Mexico 1R 1756M and Mexico half real 1796FM (with another loop at the end that may have linked to another coin). Worn but nicely toned.
