GREAT BRITAIN, bronze medal, 1797, Admiral John Jervis / Battle of Cape St. Vincent, NGC MS 63 RB, "top pop," ex-Rudman. BHM-433; Eimer-883. 38 mm. Obverse: uniformed bust facing slightly right, EARL ST VINCENT above, DEFEATED THE SPANISH FLEET below; Reverse: two flying genii holding coronet and ensign, VALOUR REWARDED above, FEB 14 1797 FOUR SHIPS / TAKEN OFF CAPE / ST VINCENT in exergue; Edge: plain. Nicely detailed high-relief medal with some red mint luster in the fields, tied with one other for finest in the NGC census. Pedigreed to the Isaac Rudman Collection (stated on label).
