First Class cabin steward's linen closet key with LC 19 on round tag, rare, ex-S.S. Central America (1857), ex-Barfield. 41.78 grams total. 4½" long (key and tag together). Recovered in 2014 from the purser's safe, port-side debris field, an iron linen-closet key with a round tag LC 19, intact, with some ring-turned designs along shaft, tiny bits of pitting and encrustation here and there. From the S.S. Central America (1857), with certificate, pedigreed to the Barfield Collection.
