English officer's sword, mid-1800s, with steel scabbard. 1050 grams; 39" long in all. A somewhat ornate piece with decorated 1" blade, clean and sharp except for one nick where it hit another blade, circular mark on ricasso containing the word PROVEN around a star, wire-wrapped velvet grip in brass handle with sweeping scrollwork guard incorporating a crowned VR (for Victoria Regina), the scabbard with a few small dents and some light surface rust, two small hangers.
