Encrusted pistol with "dogface" butt, from an unidentified 1500s Yucatan wreck. 1629 grams, 21-1/2" long. Almost full encrusted colonial pistol with brass "dogface" butt intact and visible, the rest cocooned in reddish coral. Butt plate rounded with raised, grimacing dog face. An amazing wreck artifact, perfect for display. (Pickup in person recommended; shipping at buyer's risk.) From an unidentified late-1500s wreck off the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, pedigreed to the Stuart Auerbach collection. Accompanied by photo enlargements.
